Investment Problems
Most of us have some form of savings or investment. Few know there is a distinct difference between the two. Savings accrue interest on a monthly or annual basis - investments invariably carry some form of risk.
Sometimes risk can be appropriate - sometimes not. Many people have been enticed into making investments when really they should have been savers.
The risks were often not properly explained or quantified. Many were told that the investment was guaranteed when it wasn't
With interest rates falling to only half of 1% many invested into products which promised magical levels of income. They are now discovering that this "income" has in fact come from capital or that the underlying capital has fallen. That was rarely the understanding at the outset.
